Guam Main Tour
Guam is the largest of the Marianas and had been a United States possession since its capture from Spain in 1898 until it was invaded by the Japanese on December 11, 1941. On July 21, 1944 the Americans landed on both sides of the Orote peninsula on the western side of Guam, planning to cut off the airfield. The 3rd Marine Division landed near Agana to the north of Orote, and the 1st Provisional Marine Brigade & 77th Infantry Division landed near Agat to the south.

Saipan & Tinian Post Tour
As part of the post tour we also explore Saipan where you will see the Sherman Tanks still resting in the surf zone on the very beaches on which the 2nd and 4th Marine Divisions landed on 15 June 1944 and the Army's 27th Infantry Division on the 16th. Saipan WWII History Sites: American Memorial Park Visitor Center; 2d and 4th Marine Division beaches; Mt. Tapotchau; Aslito/Isley Airfield; "Death Valley"; "Purple Heart Ridge"; "Suicide Cliff" & "Banzai Cliff"; Liberation Ceremony & wreath laying at the American Memorial Park.
We also have a exciting post tour that travels to Tinian where the 2nd & 4th Marine Divisions landed on 24 July 1944 after the Saipan campaign to capture what would become the busiest air complex in the Pacific and from where the war would be concluded by the B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay in 1945. Day 1, 19 March: Depart US, lose a day.
Day 2, 20 March: Arrive Koror after midnight on the 21st.
Day 3, 21 March: Late start with a tour of Koror. (Meals: B/L)
Day 4, 22 March: Boat to Peleliu and begin tour. (Meals: B/L/D)
Day 5 & 6, 23 & 24 March: Tour Peleliu. (Meals: B/L/D)
Day 7, 25 March: Morning tour and return to Koror in the evening. Catch the flight to Guam arriving early in the morning of the 26th. Check into hotel, free day to rest. The others arrive that evening. (Meal: B)
